Job Summary
RKN Transportation LLC is seeking 7D-certified drivers to transport students and non-emergency medical passengers safely and professionally. Our drivers ensure timely, secure, and comfortable transportation for school-aged students, individuals with special needs, and passengers requiring non-emergency medical transport.
This role involves
School Transportation: Driving students to and from school, ensuring safety and punctuality.
Non-Emergency Medical Transportation (NEMT): Transporting passengers to medical appointments, rehabilitation centers, and other essential locations.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate vehicles such as buses, vans, or delivery trucks to transport passengers or goods as required.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of trips, including mileage, fuel consumption, and passenger counts.
- Communicate effectively with passengers, providing assistance as needed during transit.
- Assist with heavy lifting and loading/unloading of cargo when necessary.
- Ensure cleanliness and proper maintenance of the vehicle at all times.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company policies while driving.
- Respond promptly to any emergencies or incidents that may occur during transport.
- Safely operate a 7D-approved vehicle while following all state and federal regulations.
- Keep the assigned vehicle clean, sanitized, and well-maintained at all times.
Requirements
- A valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) is preferred; experience in bus driving or shuttle driving is a plus.
- Previous experience in paratransit or delivery driving is advantageous.
- Strong communication skills to interact positively with passengers and team members.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting as required during loading and unloading tasks.
- Proven ability to maintain a safe driving record while adhering to all traffic regulations.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends or holidays if necessary.
- A commitment to providing excellent customer service throughout all interactions.
- Ability to assist passengers with special needs, including wheelchair securement (training provided)
- Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude
- Preferred Qualifications (Not Required but a Plus):
Experience in student or non-emergency medical transportation
CPR & First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
Defensive driving training
