• Job Title: Labor & Delivery Registered Nurse (L&D RN) – Locum Tenens
• Location: Worcester, MA 01605 (Massachusetts nursing jobs)
• Healthcare Setting: Maternity Delivery Unit
• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Nursing Contract
• Start Date: October 1, 2025
• End Date: December 31, 2025
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour nights (18:45 – 07:15), 36 hours per week
• Schedule: Every other weekend and holiday required
• Unit Details: 18 rooms, staffed to AWHONN standards
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2580 - $2650

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Labor & Delivery RN experience (3 years preferred; travel nursing experience highly valued)
• Active Registered Nurse license in Massachusetts or ability to obtain promptly (Massachusetts RN jobs)
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Intermediate or above AWHONN
• Proficiency with Epic electronic health record (EHR) system
• Ability to circulate C-sections and assist with high-risk deliveries
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• Completion of orientation and required modules
• Ability to pass Tele exam during orientation (up to 3 attempts for L&D RNs)

Labor & Delivery Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to laboring mothers and newborns in a fast-paced clinical environment
• Circulate and assist during C-sections and high-risk obstetric procedures
• Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and manage labor progression
• Perform and document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes using Epic EHR
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Educate and support patients and families throughout the labor and delivery process
• Maintain compliance with AWHONN standards and facility protocols
