Project Crafts Carpenter 1st Shift

- Plan, layout, and perform a wide variety of complicated carpentry work to drawings, instructions, and blue prints.
- Measure, cut, and shape wood, plastic, and other materials as needed using a variety of hand & power tools.
- Constructing building fixtures, structures, inside trim, sheetrock, framing walls, tiling, building stairs, handing doors, installing windows, etc.
- Work in a team environment with or without assistance from other carpenters and/or construction laborers.
- Maintain a safe work environment by observing and following all safety standards and procedures; complying with OSHA and General Electric standards.
- Perform other duties as required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent education (GED)
- 2 years of carpentry experience including but not limited to:
- framing walls, tiling, constructing stairs, hanging doors, installing doors & windows, hanging sheetrock, and installing counter tops & cabinets.
- Ability to work from drawings and schematic diagrams, read and interpret complex technical manuals and materials, and use shop math.
- Ability to work with associated power tools and measuring equipment.
- Requires experience with the constructing, repairing, and installation methods used in carpentry and construction projects.
- This is a 2nd shift work opportunity.
- Ability to lift, move, and manipulate fixtures and hardware up to 40 lbs. (with or without reasonable accommodations).
- Ability to work in confined areas, work off ladders, platforms, and heights.
- Graduation from a Vocational High School program and/or an accredited program specializing in carpentry.
- 5 years of carpentry experience including but not limited to:
- framing walls, tiling, constructing stairs, hanging doors, installing doors & windows, hanging sheetrock, and installing counter tops & cabinets.
- Experience working in an industrial and manufacturing environment.
- Familiar with industrial and Massachusetts regulations.
- Knowledge and understanding of safety rules in an industrial setting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Possess strong mechanical abilities.
- Solid understanding of computers & technology along with the willingness to use application software and troubleshoot problems.
