Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Surgical ICU position in Worcester, MA, requiring a MA RN license and a minimum of 2 years of SICU experience.

Details

• Surgical ICU setting within a busy, high-acuity hospital environment
• Patient population includes surgical, trauma, and transplant cases
• Patient ratio of 1:1-2
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM)
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required to other adult ICUs and stepdown units as needed
• Epic EMR used
• Contract lengths of 13, 20, or 26 weeks are available

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required; conditional MA license accepted if actively working toward permanent licensure
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required; TCAR preferred
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
• SICU experience is required
• Candidates with previous travel experience and Level I Trauma experience may be considered with 1.5 years of experience
• Level I Trauma experience required
• Proficiency in a broad range of ICU skills including arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, ventilator management, CVVHD/CRRT, vasoactive and cardiac drip titration, and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
• Two professional references required, at least one of which must be from a Nurse Manager or higher

• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates are accepted; candidates must reside more than 200 miles from the facility to qualify for travel pay rates
• A pass/fail telemetry (EKG) test is required during orientation; RNs receive one attempt and must achieve a passing score of 80% or higher — failure results in assignment cancellation
• A pass/fail medication exam is also required during orientation
• Pre-start online modules (approximately 1-2 hours) must be completed prior to the start date
• Candidates who have previously worked for the health system must have a minimum 12-month separation before being eligible
• This is a union facility; no special scheduling accommodations can be made, and candidates must be available to work all 7 days of the week
• RTO requests are subject to review; no RTO is permitted during the first week of the assignment, and requests should be minimal (ideally 3-5 days)
• Candidates with prior disciplinary actions on their nursing license will not be considered
