Job Title: Diagnostic Technician
Location: Hyannis, MA
Duration: 13 Weeks
Hours: 36 Hours/Week
Shift: 11:00 AM – 11:30 PM, including every other weekend and holiday
Compensation:
- Travel Pay: $44–$47/hour ($1,518 – $1,621/week) – based on experience
- Local Pay: $34–$37/hour ($1,172 – $1,276/week) – based on experience
Position Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and patient-focused Diagnostic Technician to support laboratory specimen collection and non-invasive cardiac testing in a fast-paced healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong phlebotomy and EKG skills while providing excellent patient care and maintaining high professional standards.
Responsibilities:
- Collect blood specimens and other laboratory samples accurately and safely
- Transport specimens to the laboratory following established procedures
- Properly identify patients prior to specimen collection
- Educate patients on specimen collection procedures and testing requirements
- Perform non-invasive cardiac testing including:
- EKGs
- Holter Monitor placement
- Stress Testing
- Ensure all required laboratory and cardiac testing documentation is completed accurately
- Research unusual or specialized test requests using available resources
- Document testing information within hospital information systems and department logs
- Complete cardiac test ordering and billing documentation as required
- Maintain compliance with safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
Qualifications & Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Phlebotomy Certification (PBT) required
- EKG Certification required
- Current BLS Certification required
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Ability to work independently and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent communication and patient care skills
- Acute care hospital experience preferred
