We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Immigration Case Manager to join our team. The position is FEE FOR SERVICE (FFS). The Immigration Case Manager will provide support to individuals and families navigating the U.S. immigration process. The role involves assessing clients’ immigration needs, managing case files, and assisting with the preparation and submission of immigration applications and petitions. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of clients, guiding them through complex legal procedures with care and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Case Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments to determine clients' immigration needs, including eligibility for visas, asylum, family reunification, naturalization, or other immigration-related services.
  • Application Assistance: Help clients complete immigration forms (e.g., I-130, I-485, N-400, TPS applications, etc.) accurately and efficiently. Ensure all necessary documentation is collected and submitted in a timely manner.
  • Client Support: Provide guidance on the immigration process, addressing client concerns and explaining options clearly. Maintain communication with clients to keep them informed of case status and next steps.
  • Document Preparation and Filing: Prepare petitions, applications, and supporting documents for submission to USCIS (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services) or other relevant agencies. Ensure all forms are completed in compliance with immigration law.
  • Follow-Up and Case Monitoring: Track the progress of immigration cases, respond to any requests for additional information, and ensure timely follow-up with the relevant authorities.
  • Legal Referrals: Refer clients to immigration attorneys or legal resources as needed, especially for complex legal issues or when representation is required.
  • Record Keeping and Documentation: Maintain up-to-date, accurate, and confidential case files in compliance with privacy laws and organizational standards. Document all client interactions and case progress.
  • Community Resource Coordination: Assist clients in accessing additional support services, such as legal aid, social services, housing, and employment resources, to address any non-immigration needs.
  • Crisis Management: Provide support and guidance for clients in urgent situations, such as deportation proceedings, humanitarian parole, or other time-sensitive immigration issues.
  • Client Education and Empowerment: Educate clients about their immigration rights and responsibilities, including information on work permits, family-based petitions, asylum, and other immigration options.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with other case managers, legal professionals, and social service providers to ensure comprehensive support for clients. Attend team meetings to discuss case progress and challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in immigration case management, legal assistance, or working with immigrant populations required
  • Bachelor degree preferred but NOT required
  • Willing to work onsite most of the times
  • Knowledge of U.S. immigration laws, policies, and procedures, including visa categories, asylum, and family reunification processes.
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal), with the ability to communicate complex information clearly to clients.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and case management.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and case management software.
  • Bilingual (Haitian Creole/English or other languages) is a plus, but not required.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and maintaining client privacy in accordance with legal and ethical guidelines.
