Overview

We are excited to announce an opportunity for an experienced and highly motivated individual to join our team at the Molecular Imaging Core at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute as a Senior Research Technician. This role is ideal for a candidate with a strong background in advanced imaging techniques who is eager to contribute to the development and application of cutting-edge spatial multiomics imaging technologies.

As a senior member of our team, you will work hands-on with state of the art, cutting-edge microscopes, and play a key role in optimizing and implementing multiplexed imaging protocols. Collaborating closely with leading scientists in bioimaging and cancer biology, your expertise will directly support innovative research projects as you have the opportunity to contribute to the advancement of high-impact cancer research.

We work with amazing partners, including other Harvard Medical School-affiliated hospitals. The Molecular Imaging Core ( has been designed as a one-stop-shop for all imaging needs to scientists. It provides users with access to cutting-edge Widefield, confocal microscopes, and multiplexed transcript/protein imaging platforms.

Responsibilities

    • Independently perform sample preparation for microscopy imaging and spatial transcriptome imaging, ensuring high-quality and reproducible results
    • Operate and optimize a range of imaging platforms, from conventional light microscopy to cutting-edge multiplexed imaging systems
    • Support training efforts by mentoring and instructing core facility users on proper microscope operation and imaging best practices.
    • Contribute to image data analysis, including data processing, quantification, and interpretation in collaboration with core users and scientific staff.
    • Engage directly with scientist researchers and users for collaborative projects, providing technical insight and support to enhance experimental outcomes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree required; degree in Biology, Biomedical Engineering, or related field highly preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of microscopy techniques; prior experience with multiplexed or spatial omics imaging is highly desirable.
  • Minimum 1 year of hands-on laboratory experience, with a strong focus on microscopy or imaging workflows, including immunofluorescence staining, sample preparation, and image acquisition.
  • Demonstrated ability to trouble-shoot and optimize experimental protocols independently.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and within a collaborative team environment.
