Registered Nurse,

This role involves providing comprehensive wound care to patients, collaborating with physicians and other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care from referral to discharge. The Registered Nurse will perform patient assessments, coordinate scheduling, educate patients and families, participate in quality improvement initiatives related to wound care, and maintain compliance with hospital policies and regulations.

Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to coordinate patient care.
- Assist with pre-authorization processes.
- Manage patient scheduling for consultations, diagnostic, and treatment procedures.
- Conduct patient assessments and evaluations.
- Order and interpret lab results, x-rays, and diagnostic procedures.
- Educate patients and families on medical care.
- Develop patient/family educational materials.
- Participate in patient rounds and case conferences.
- Maintain current clinical knowledge and skills through continuing education.
- Lead process improvement initiatives related to wound care.
- Serve as a liaison and clinical expert for skin and wound-related serious reportable events.
- Lead NDNQI quarterly pressure injury prevalence surveys.
- Maintain annual mandatory education requirements.
- Demonstrate professional responsibility and participate in professional development opportunities.

Required Skills & Certifications:

- Registered Nurse license in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
- Experience with computer systems, including web-based applications and Microsoft Office Suite.
- 1-3 years of related work experience (preferred).

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

- Bachelor's degree in nursing.
- Certification in wound, ostomy, and continence nursing.
- Prior experience in a specialty service.
- EPIC proficiency.

Special Considerations:

- Day shift, weekdays only (no weekends).
- Flu vaccine required (new staff by 9/2, current staff by 12/1).
- Candidates cannot have worked permanently, as a traveler, or per diem for any Beth Israel facility within the past 6 months.
