FLT / Warehouse Assistant

We are currently recruiting on behalf of our Leominster-based client for an experienced FLT / Warehouse Assistant to join their team on a temporary-to-permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and experienced warehouse professional with strong forklift operating skills and a good understanding of day-to-day warehouse operations.

What You Can Expect

• Salary: £13.50 per hour
• Hours: Monday to Friday – Day Shift
• Contract: Temporary to Permanent
• Opportunity to join an established warehouse operation
• Varied warehouse and forklift duties
• Ongoing opportunity for the right candidate

What You Will Be Doing

• Safely and efficiently load and unload delivery vehicles and containers
• Operate Counterbalance and Pivot-Steer forklifts, including Bendi/Flexi trucks, within narrow warehouse aisles
• Move and position stock safely around the warehouse
• Complete stock paperwork, including goods-in records, pick sheets and delivery notes
• Carry out regular stock checks and check physical stock against warehouse records
• Put away and rotate stock within warehouse racking systems
• Report stock discrepancies, damaged goods and paperwork issues promptly to supervisors
• Complete daily safety checks on forklifts, vehicles and warehouse equipment
• Assist with general warehouse duties as required
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe working environment

What We Are Looking For

• Valid Counterbalance forklift licence, Flexi/Pivot Steer also would be an advantage but not essential
• Previous experience operating articulated forklifts within a warehouse environment
• Proven warehouse experience
• Good attention to detail when handling stock codes, paperwork and records
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills for accurate record keeping
• Reliable, organised and safety-conscious approach to work
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team
• Good communication skills and a positive attitude
