Your Role in This Mission:
As a Bilingual Counselor/Advocate, you will play a critical role in providing trauma-informed, survivor-centered counseling and advocacy while fostering partnerships that increase access to care. Your work will directly support Spanish and Khmer-speaking survivors in navigating legal, healthcare, and social systems, ensuring they receive holistic, culturally affirming services.

  • Provide 1:1 trauma-informed counseling to survivors on-site and in the community.
  • Facilitate survivor support groups focused on psychoeducation, wellness, reflection, and skills-building.
  • Advocate for survivors across legal, healthcare, and social systems, ensuring they receive comprehensive referrals and support.• Build intentional relationships with service providers and community organizations to expand survivor access to critical services.
  • Support community engagement efforts by participating in events, meetings, and outreach initiatives.
  • Collaborate with CHH’s Hope Prevents and Survivor Services teams to strengthen survivor advocacy and prevention programs.
  • Conduct dynamic community outreach through focus groups, surveys, and on-site collaborations that uncover needs and expand survivor access to care
  • Share knowledge and spark action by providing educational resources on key public policy issues to staff, volunteers, and our online community
  • Co-lead CHH’s role in Advocacy Day, collaborating with Jane Doe Inc. to take our message from community to the Capitol.
  • Prepare policy-related communications and provide educational resources on key public policy issues affecting survivors.
  • Support CHH’s 24-hour crisis response by participating in hotline, medical advocacy, and web-chat coverage.
  • Help facilitate internal training programs, including CHH’s Rape Crisis Counselor training.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Bilingual in Haitian Creole, Khmer, or Spanish (required) with deep cultural awareness and sensitivity.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in social work, psychology, human services, or a related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in crisis intervention, advocacy, or survivor-centered services.
  • Experience working with historically underserved populations, including communities of color, LGBQ/T individuals, immigrants, and people with disabilities.
  • Passionate about social justice and breaking down systemic barriers for survivors.
  • Strong relational and public speaking skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Willingness to travel locally and work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Trained Rape Crisis Counselor (RCC) or willingness to complete training within one month of hire.
