Direct Support Professional
- Empowerment Advocate: You'll plan and support individuals in a wide range of daily activities, from vocational training and personal living skills to recreational outings and community integration. You'll help them discover new interests, build confidence, and become more independent.
- Health and Safety Champion: You'll assist individuals in maintaining healthy lifestyles, monitor their well-being, and ensure a safe and clean environment. You'll be a key observer and will report any changes in their health or behavior.
- Life Skills Coach: You'll provide training and assistance in everything from healthy dietary choices to personal hygiene, adapting your approach to meet each individual's unique needs.
- Communication Hub: You'll stay connected with the team by checking and responding to program messages daily.
- Performance Partner: You'll observe, evaluate, and provide feedback on individuals' performance in group settings and work assignments, helping them develop valuable skills and build self-esteem.
- Transportation: You'll safely transport individuals to activities, work, and home, adhering to all GAAMHA safety policies.
- Record Keeper: You'll accurately document progress, observations, and other important information in our electronic records system, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
- Team Player: You'll actively participate in required training and maintain a professional demeanor at all times, reflecting GAAMHA's values and commitment to dignity and respect.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience in human services or working with individuals with disabilities is a plus, but your genuine desire to help others is what truly matters.
- Fluency in written and oral English. Bi-Lingual candidates a plus!
- A clean CORI (criminal record check).
- A valid driver's license and a good driving record.
