We are building the next generation of the closed loop media lifecycle, building AI agents that leverage the latest in LLMs and generative AI with specialized knowledge. Our products to generate actionable business insights for our customers and partners, assisting in each step of the media planning, buying and measurement lifecycle.
Role Description
We're seeking an experienced Backend Engineer to join our team. You'll design and develop scalable backend services and APIs that power our AI-driven applications, including a focus on connections between our AI platform and major advertising technology platforms such as The Trade Desk (TTD), Google DV360, and other programmatic advertising systems. These connections will involve a combination of building integration libraries, MCP servers and integration with Newton AI agents. This role is critical to our mission of delivering AI-powered advertising insights that drive measurable business outcomes. The ideal candidate brings significant experience with ad-tech integrations and a passion for building scalable backend systems that can handle complex data workflows.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop high-performance backend services that integrate our AI platform with multiple ad-tech platforms, including the build and integration of MCP clients/servers for some of these endpoints.
- Build reliable and well-documented APIs to ensure seamless data flow between systems
- Implement efficient data processing pipelines for advertising performance metrics
- Collaborate with data science team to operationalize AI models within the ad-tech ecosystem
- Troubleshoot integration challenges and develop creative solutions
- Lead technical discussions with advertising partners regarding API requirements
- Maintain and optimize existing integrations to ensure reliability and performance
- Participate in code reviews and technical documentation
- Stay current with developments in ad-tech APIs and programmatic advertising standards
Qualifications
- 5-10 years of backend engineering experience with a focus on API development and system integrations
- Proven experience integrating with advertising platforms, particularly The Trade Desk (TTD) or similar DSPs/publisher platforms
- Strong programming skills in Python
- Experience with cloud infrastructure, preferably AWS
- Proficiency with database technologies (PostgreSQL, Redis)
- Familiarity with event-driven architecture and message queuing systems
- Understanding of RESTful API design principles and best practices
- Experience with containerization and deployment automation (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Knowledge of programmatic advertising concepts and workflows
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced startup environment
- Bonus: Experience with LLMs and generative AI applications in marketing or advertising
