Accounts Payable Specialist

The Accounts Payable Specialist plays a critical role in supporting daily operations within the Accounts Payable function. This role involves providing exceptional customer service, managing financial data accurately, and ensuring compliance with established accounting policies. The ideal candidate will be highly detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal stakeholders.

This position offers a competitive pay rate of up to $33 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

This position offers a hybrid set-up with 3 days on site during training and then 2 days on site after training

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform accurate and timely month-end close activities, invoice processing, and maintenance of AP-related reports in compliance with company policies
• Respond to AP-related inquiries professionally within two business days and assist in resolving payment issues across departments
• Analyze financial data and summarize findings to support decision-making and improve operational efficiency
• Collaborating with the team to handle a high-volume of invoices

Required Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, finance, or financial operations
• Proven experience handling a high volume of invoices
• Demonstrated experience using Microsoft Office Suite

Nice-to-Have Experience:

• Experience delivering customer service to a diverse audience
• Prior exposure to financial operations within nonprofit or higher education settings
• Familiarity with SAP, Coupa, or similar enterprise accounting systems
• Previous experience in a large or complex institutional environment
