Registered Nurse Job Details

• Assignment Type: Locum tenens travel nursing contract
• Location: Boston, MA 02115 (Massachusetts nursing jobs)
• Unit: Pediatric Cardiac ICU / CVICU / CICU
• Duration: 13 weeks (September 14, 2025 – December 14, 2025)
• Shifts: 3x12-hour shifts per week; 50/50 day/night rotation (7:00am–7:00pm or 7:00pm–7:00am); straight nights available
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: 3 of 6 weekends per contract
• Charting: EPIC electronic medical record system
• Parking: Discounted off-site parking with shuttle service; free parking for night shift nurses
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2470–$2540

PICU Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent pediatric critical care nursing experience, including pre/post-op care for congenital heart disease (CHD)
• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Massachusetts (permanent license required)
• BLS and PALS certifications required
• Experience in CVICU, PICU, or CICU settings preferred
• Ability to float to MSICU, MICU, NICU, and ACCU as needed
• Two professional references from two of the last three healthcare employers
• COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)

Registered Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to pediatric cardiac patients in a fast-paced CVICU/CICU environment
• Monitor, assess, and document patient status using EPIC charting system
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
• Deliver pre- and post-operative care for pediatric cardiac patients
• Float to other critical care units (MSICU, MICU, NICU, ACCU) as needed
• Participate in weekend and rotating day/night nursing shifts as scheduled
