Travel Pathology Assistant Job

TLC Nursing Associates, Inc. is seeking a Pathology Assistant for travel assignments in various healthcare facilities. The Pathology Assistant will assist in the preparation and analysis of tissue specimens, ensuring accurate diagnosis and timely reporting. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail , and the ability to collaborate with pathologists and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation and dissection of tissue specimens for analysis.
- Ensure specimen labeling, handling, and storage meet appropriate standards.
- Perform gross examination of tissue specimens to aid in diagnosis.
- Document and record pathology findings accurately.
- Prepare tissue for histologic processing and embedding.
- Assist with autopsy procedures and documentation.
- Collaborate with pathologists to prepare reports and diagnostic information .
- Travel to various healthcare facilities for temporary assignments as needed.
Qualifications
- Education: Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Pathology, Medical Laboratory Science , or related field.
- Certification: Certification by ASCP (American Society for Clinical Pathology) preferred.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in a pathology or related role.
- Skills: Attention to detail, ability to handle specimens safely, and strong communication skills.
- Travel Readiness: Willingness to take on travel assignments .
