We have an opportunity for an experienced Senior Litigation Counsel to join our Legal team. This highly visible role reports to the SVP, Legal – Corporate, Compliance and Employment, leads all aspects of a diverse litigation portfolio and helps safeguard the Company while supporting teams that bring beloved brands, innovative products, and entertainment experiences to life. The Senior Attorney will handle a broad range of legal disputes, including commercial, IP, employment, product safety, licensed-property, privacy, and regulatory matters. The Senior Attorney will collaborate closely with business teams and drive strategic, practical solutions that balance legal risk with business objectives. Effective from the date that Hasbro opens its new Boston location, this position will be onsite Tuesday – Thursday at Hasbro’s new HQ location in Boston, MA. In the interim, this position will be onsite Tuesday –Thursday at Hasbro’s HQ in Pawtucket, RI or at Hasbro’s temporary location in Boston, MA. A day in the life of a Senior Litigation Counsel: Litigation & Dispute Management Oversee and manage an extensive litigation and pre-litigation portfolio, including commercial contract disputes, product liability, intellectual property matters, employment-related claims, securities claims, consumer class actions, and licensed-property litigation. Develop and execute effective litigation strategies from demand through resolution, arbitration, trial, or settlement. Manage e-discovery, legal holds, case assessments, records retention policy, reserves, internal reports, and updates to senior leadership. Regulatory, Compliance & Internal Investigations Provide support and strategic counsel on regulatory, compliance, product safety, privacy, advertising, and consumer protection matters. Assist in internal investigations involving code-of-conduct issues, product safety/quality events, HR or workplace matters, and potential compliance breaches. Support responses to regulatory inquiries and enforcement actions (e.g., CPSC, FTC, state AGs, EU/UK regulators). Cross-Functional Partnership Collaborate closely with Brand teams, Product Development, Licensing, Digital Gaming, Global Supply Chain, Product Safety & Quality, HR, Compliance, Finance, and Communications to identify risks early and support business objectives. Provide clear, practical guidance to help teams assess risks and make informed, strategic decisions. Outside Counsel Management Select, retain, and manage outside counsel; ensure alignment on strategy, budget, performance, and outcomes. Drive efficiency and consistency in litigation management and reporting. Process, Governance & Reporting Build and enhance processes for efficient litigation management, e-discovery, compliance controls, and legal operations. Prepare litigation reports, risk assessments, dashboards, and executive-level updates, including for senior management and Board committees. Contribute to knowledge-sharing tools, protocols, and training. What you'll bring: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school and admission to at least one U.S. state bar. Minimum 8 years of litigation experience, ideally with a blend of top law firm and in-house experience. Demonstrated capability managing complex disputes involving commercial contracts, product liability, intellectual property, employment, consumer protection, and licensed-property conflicts. Skilled at managing outside counsel, budgets, and strategy. Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate complex issues into actionable, practical mentorship for non-lawyers. Excellent writing, advocacy, and communication skills, including presenting to senior leadership. Outstanding judgment, integrity, discretion, and emotional intelligence. Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives, prioritize in a fast-paced environment, and think creatively to resolve nuanced issues. Collaborative approach and ability to build strong, trusting relationships across teams. Proactive approach around process improvement, legal operations, and risk mitigation. The base salary range for this position is $178,600.00 to $268,000.00. The hiring range will vary based on factors such as experience, skills, location and market conditions. Additionally, employees may be eligible for annual and long-term incentives as part of their overall compensation package.
