Facilities Care Specialists are responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and presentable facility at Boston Bouldering Project. Facilities Care Specialist employees are an integral part of the in-house management and maintenance of the built environment and are primarily responsible for the cleanliness of the facility. These staff members have a direct impact on the experience of every individual that walks through the door, from a first impression of the space to a lasting experience, these staff help to create a welcoming and healthy environment. General Responsibilities include performing regular cleaning duties such as vacuuming climbing mats, mopping concrete floors, dusting required areas, regular cleaning of restroom areas, cleaning and sanitizing fitness equipment, and ensuring that all custodial related assignments are completed as assigned by the Facilities Manager. They maintain cleaning stations throughout the building during peak hours, perform regular bathroom and facility walk-throughs, and immediately remedy instances in need of attention. Other responsibilities include vacuuming top out boulders, vacuuming and cleaning of non-climbing walls, internal window cleaning, dusting, and other cleaning duties as assigned or required. In addition to cleaning, Facilities Care Specialists are expected to provide customer service by responding to customer inquiries in a helpful and welcoming manner, referring to Operations staff as required, and demonstrating a willingness to learn about BBP policies and procedures to foster positive customer interactions. They also play a role in facility safety and incident response by ensuring the safety of staff and customers through organized and conscientious working habits, responding to accidents and incidents following the Safety Manual and Protocol, administering first aid as needed, and documenting incidents through an incident report log.
Responsibilities
- Perform regular cleaning duties including vacuuming climbing mats, mopping concrete floors, dusting required areas, and cleaning restroom areas.
- Clean and sanitize fitness equipment and ensure all custodial assignments are completed as assigned by the Facilities Manager.
- Maintain cleaning stations throughout the building during peak hours.
- Perform regular bathroom and facility walk-throughs, remedying instances in need of attention.
- Vacuum top out boulders and clean non-climbing walls.
- Conduct internal window cleaning and dusting as required.
- Respond to customer inquiries in a helpful and welcoming manner, referring to Operations staff as needed.
- Ensure the safety of staff and customers through organized working habits and respond to accidents and incidents according to
the Safety Manual and Protocol.
- Administer first aid in accordance with Safety Manual and BP Protocol and document incidents through incident report log.
