Position Summary:
The Director, EHSS Audit & Assurance leads the global strategy and execution of BMS's EHSS internal audit program, ensuring alignment with the EHSS management system and driving continuous improvement, risk mitigation, and compliance assurance. This role provides strategic oversight of audit planning, delivery, and reporting, while advancing audit methodologies through digital innovation and systems thinking. The Director partners with global stakeholders to deliver insights that strengthen EHSS governance and performance across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the global EHSS internal audit program, including strategic planning, scoping, execution, and reporting, aligned with internal standards and business priorities.
- Oversee annual audit goal-setting, long-range planning, and outcome reporting to senior leadership; support management review and trend analysis.
- Drive continuous improvement of audit processes by analyzing findings, identifying systemic risks, and recommending enhancements to EHSS programs and controls.
- Advance digitalization of the audit program, including integration of AI and analytics to improve efficiency, insight generation, and risk prediction.
- Develop and deliver auditor training and communications, partnering with site leaders, EHSS systems leads, and external providers.
- Serve as the primary liaison for internal and external audit stakeholders, including certification bodies and industry organizations.•Provide expert guidance in complex EHSS scenarios, applying risk-based thinking and cross-functional collaboration.
- Bachelor's degree in life sciences, engineering, or a related field; advanced degrees preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of EHSS experience, with significant leadership in audit program development and delivery.
- Deep knowledge of EHSS management systems (ISO14001, ISO45001, PSM) and global regulatory frameworks.
- Proven ability to lead global audit teams and communicate findings to diverse audiences.
- Experience with digital audit tools, data analytics, and AI integration in compliance programs.
- Strong project management, stakeholder engagement, and change leadership skills.
- Willingness to travel up to 50% globally and work flexibly across varied environments.
- Preferred: Professional certifications (CIH, CSP); ISO 14001/45001 Lead Auditor credential.

Compensation Overview:
Devens - MA - US: $197,230 - $239,001
New Brunswick - NJ - US: $179,300 - $217,268
Princeton - NJ - US: $179,300 - $217,268
The starting compensation range(s) for this role are listed above for a full-time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities (based on eligibility) may be available. The starting pay rate takes into account characteristics of the job, such as required skills, where the job is performed, the employee's work schedule, job-related knowledge, and experience. Final, individual compensation will be decided based on demonstrated experience.

On-site Protocol
BMS has an occupancy structure that determines where an employee is required to conduct their work. This structure includes site-essential, site-by-design, field-based and remote-by-design jobs. The occupancy type that you are assigned is determined by the nature and responsibilities of your role:
Site-essential roles require 100% of shifts onsite at your assigned facility. Site-by-design roles may be eligible for a hybrid work model with at least 50% onsite at your assigned facility. For these roles, onsite presence is considered an essential job function and is critical to collaboration, innovation, productivity, and a positive Company culture. For field-based and remote-by-design roles the ability to physically travel to visit customers, patients or business partners and to attend meetings on behalf of BMS as directed is an essential job function.
