AV Lead / Installation Technician – Medical & Simulation AV Systems

Location: Travel-based (Monday–Friday across the Northeast)

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced AV Installation Technician to support cutting-edge audiovisual projects in healthcare and simulation training environments. Instead of typical boardrooms and conference centers, you'll be working in hospitals and simulation labs —installing SimCapture, a leading AV platform used to train the next generation of healthcare professionals. This is a travel-based role ( Monday-Friday Home on the weekends) where you'll serve as the on-site technical lead, guiding installations from start to finish while working directly with clients, educators, and project teams. Client will cover Travel Costs.

What You'll Do

• Lead on-site installation, maintenance, and service of commercial AV and low-voltage systems in medical and simulation environments
• Provide day-to-day technical leadership and direction to AV technicians and subcontractors
• Install and support audio systems (DSPs, microphones, speakers), video systems (displays, projectors), PTZ cameras, networked AV platforms, paging systems, and structured cabling (CAT6/fiber)
• Read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
• Perform system testing, troubleshooting, and basic commissioning to ensure quality and functionality
• Interface directly with clients, healthcare educators, and internal project teams to deliver exceptional service

What We're Looking For

• 3–5+ years of commercial AV or low-voltage installation experience
• Prior experience as a Lead or Senior AV Technician
• Strong understanding of AV signal flow, cabling standards, and troubleshooting methodologies
• Familiarity with IP-based AV systems and basic networking concepts
• Willingness and ability to travel weekly (Monday–Friday)
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead teams on-site

Nice to Have

• AVIXA CTS, CTS-I, or CTS-D certification
• Experience in healthcare, higher education, or simulation training environments
• Hands-on experience with AV-over-IP, recording systems, or capture platforms

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Boston, MA.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
