Senior Manager, Benefits
Job Description
Our client is hiring a contract Senior Manager, Benefits to lead their global benefits team and develop competitive programs that attract, reward, and retain employees. In this role, you will evaluate the effectiveness of existing benefit offerings, policies, and guidelines and ensure they are market competitive, cost effective, and aligned with company goals.
This job will require a hybrid schedule of 2-3 days/week on site at the client's offices in Alewife, Cambridge, MA.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, implementation, administration, and communication of benefit programs globally, including health and welfare benefits, retirement, leaves of absence, and wellness programs
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive benefits strategy that is equitable, scalable, and comprehensive
- Manage the global benefits team that supports employees in more than 15 countries
- Oversee and manage annual benefits renewal and open enrollment planning projects
- Ensure the deployment of benefits programs, including benefits renewals, open enrollment, retirement, and wellness programs.
- Ensure compliance with all local leave laws globally and manage systems for evaluating, developing and implementing an overall leave strategy globally
- Develop analytics, metrics, and dashboards around benefits programs and other key areas to evaluate the effectiveness of the program and inform the program direction in the future
- Collaborate with the HR business partners in implementing benefits strategies that are supportive of the company’s goals, drive engagement, and link to key initiatives and priorities.
- Sustain collaborative relationships with other departments (finance, payroll, legal, etc.) to work through complex challenges, identify risk and legal implications, maintain compliance, and build trust
- Manage vendor contract renewals and fee negotiations and ensure performance guarantees from carriers and vendors
Job Qualifications:
- At least 10 years experience in benefits & leave administration with at least 5 years experience managing a team in a global organization
- Experience in leading transformational change, managing stakeholders, achieving buy-in among disparate audiences, and delivering results in a variety of settings
- Experience with Workday is highly preferred
- Extensive knowledge of legislation governing benefit plans (ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, FMLA, and GDPR).
- Advanced problem-solving, process improvement, and change management skills, with the ability to think strategically, analytically, and creatively
- Excellent communication skills
