Travel Registered Nurse SICU Job

TLC Nursing Associates, Inc. is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) – Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) to provide critical care to post-surgical patients requiring intensive monitoring and specialized interventions. This role involves assessing patients, managing life-support equipment, administering medications, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Provide specialized nursing care to critically ill post-surgical patients in the SICU
- Monitor vital signs, hemodynamic status, and neurological responses for early detection of complications
- Administer IV fluids, medications, and blood products as per physician orders
- Operate and manage ventilators, infusion pumps, and other critical care equipment
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals
- Implement and adjust care plans based on patient responses and clinical protocols
- Educate patients and families on post-operative care, recovery expectations, and discharge planning
- Ensure compliance with infection control protocols, hospital policies, and regulatory standards
Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in applicable state(s)
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an SICU, ICU, or critical care setting preferred
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required
- Strong understanding of post-surgical complications, pain management, and wound care
- Proficiency in critical thinking, rapid assessment, and emergency interventions
