Requires a Bachelors degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 5+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree plus 3 years of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Department of Defense Secret security clearance is obtainable within a reasonable amount of time after hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this PositionThis individual will lead a systems team performing simulation and modeling tasks to faciliate analysis, design, implementation, and test activities to support of on-going Internal Research & Development (IRAD) activities in the area of inertial guidance. These tasks are related to activities in our Advanced Guidance Lab (AGL) and include guidance concepts, technologies, PNT tools and lab infrastructure.The selected candidate should also have good oral and written communications skills, and perform work assignments under minimal supervision, and support frequent communications within and across Integrated Product Teams.
Additional Responsibilities
- Must have strong background in MATLAB and Simulink environment/toolkits.
- Must possess a Physics bacground.
- Must demonstrate a scientific background and the ability to further advance GDMS technology.
- Must possess a Subject Matter Expert (SME) level knowledge experienceof Systems Engineering and development of system architectures
- Must possess the ability to lead large systems development efforts
- Must possess good communication skills, including with customer and project management
- Candidates must demonstrate passion for innovation, a sophisticated understanding of various engineering systems and the ability to further advance General Dynamics Mission Systems technology.
- Deliver innovative, flexible, integrated solutions to meet customers changing business needs
- Support and engage in programs, projects and practices behind the General Dynamics Mission Systems culture and strategy, and comply with all policies and procedures
- Follow industry and department trends and developments to ensure General Dynamics Mission Systems services are consistent with, and/or superior to, industry best practices
The preferred candidate should have some or all the following qualifications:
- Embedded programming (C, C++, python, JavaScript) and microcontroller experience
- Controls experience
- Knowledge and understanding of electronics and electrical systems
- Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience
- Agile Method experience
- Experience with Jira and Confluence

This position is flex/hybrid. On-site location is Building 130 at the Pittsfield location. .
