Machine Learning Software Engineer
ABOUT THE TEAM
The Imaging team is responsible for tackling the most difficult problems involving computer vision, perception, electro-optical, infrared, and sensor data. The team develops state-of-the-art imaging systems across both hardware and software. Their products are deployed to tackle the most significant security challenges of America and its allies.
ABOUT THE JOB
As a Machine Learning Software Engineer on the Imaging team, you will develop machine learning solutions for advanced sensor technology from concept to production. You'll optimize existing object detection algorithms and pioneer ML-based image enhancement techniques that push the boundaries of what's possible with our sensors. Working closely with hardware engineers, you'll translate sensor capabilities into robust ML models that perform in real-world conditions. Your work will directly impact Anduril's ability to deliver cutting-edge defense technology, with the opportunity to identify and develop novel ML applications across our product portfolio.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong technical foundation in machine learning principles and algorithms with at least 2 years of experience building real-world ML systems
- Strong foundation in computer vision fundamentals, including both classical techniques and modern deep learning approaches
- Proficiency in Python and PyTorch or equivalent deep learning frameworks
- Experience with the full ML development lifecycle (data preparation, model training, validation, deployment)
- Understanding of how to optimize ML models for real-time or resource-constrained environments
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong technical communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field
- Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with real-time ML systems (NVIDIA deployment stack, ONNX, TensorRT, model quantization)
- Familiarity with C++ for performance-critical applications
- Knowledge of ML Ops tools and practices (experiment tracking, model versioning, CI/CD for ML)
- Experience building and maintaining large-scale data processing pipelines
- Background in object detection, image enhancement, or similar computer vision tasks
- Experience with infrared imaging or other non-visible spectrum sensors
- Track record of deploying ML solutions in production environments
- MS/PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related technical field
US Salary Range
$168,000 - $252,000 USD
The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Anduril's total compensation package.
