CNC Operations Manager

For our Turners Falls client, you’ll lead the CNC department end-to-end—people, process, equipment, quality, and safety. Picture your day beginning with a quick floor walk, a stand-up with leads, and alignment with engineering, maintenance, and planning. From there, you’ll guide production priorities, validate quality against specs, and drive improvements that lift throughput while protecting safety and precision.

What you’ll do

• Oversee daily CNC operations, including machine setup and run readiness across the department.
• Coordinate seamlessly with engineering, maintenance, and planning to keep jobs flowing without bottlenecks.
• Guard product quality by enforcing specs, inspection criteria, and safety/quality standards.
• Translate operational changes into clear direction for supervisors, team leads, and CNC operators.
• Design and deploy process improvements that elevate productivity and minimize downtime.
• Keep equipment production-ready with proactive, preventive maintenance plans and execution.
• Maintain OSHA compliance and uphold internal safety protocols at all times.
• Develop people—support training plans, skill progression, and career growth for CNC staff.
• Supervise, train, and evaluate CNC Operators across multiple shifts to ensure consistent performance.

What you bring

• 7–10 years managing a CNC machine shop, including leadership of multi-shift operations.
• Advanced CNC programming capability (G-code and M-code).
• Hands-on expertise with CNC Swiss turning, mills, and lathes.
• Fluency in blueprint reading, GD&T, and precision metrology (micrometers, calipers, etc.).
• Strength in production scheduling, tooling strategy, and equipment utilization.
• Proven success applying continuous improvement methodologies to real results.
• Outstanding communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional leadership.
• Nice to have: OSHA 10, forklift license, or supervisory training.
• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
