Summary:
Join the Center’s 2026 Summer Internship Program as an Intern working closely with the Arctic Great Rivers Observatory (ArcticGRO) and Woodwell Climate’s Marketing & Communications team. ArcticGRO is an international scientific collaboration that measures and monitors the chemistry and flow of the six largest northern high latitude rivers to gain hydrochemical insights on watershed-scale environmental processes and Arctic change. ArcticGRO has been ongoing for more than 20 years and has involved dozens of scientists and collaborators from around the world and from different backgrounds. The scope of ArcticGRO – geographically, temporally, and scientifically – make it unique. Your main role will be to compile the history of the ArcticGRO project, from its inception to present day, with an eye to scientific storytelling. A key part of this role will be conducting interviews with ArcticGRO core team members and collaborators and transcribing the interviews.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Conduct, record, and transcribe interviews with ArcticGRO scientists and key collaborators
Research the history of the ArcticGRO project
Optionally participate in a Yukon River expedition with a key project collaborator to collect samples and interview the collaborator.
Produce a detailed timeline of the project
Digitize physical materials (photos etc.)
Maintain organized digital filing system both on google drive and a hard drive
Identify storytelling opportunities from interview and research materials
The following knowledge and skills are required:
Experience with conducting and transcribing interviews
Comfortable with conducting research independently and collaboratively
Ability to synthesize information across various sources
Ability to quickly build trust and strong working relationships with new people
Skill at digital file and document organization
Interest in Arctic science
Instinct for what makes a good storytelling opportunity
Qualifications:
Enrolled in undergraduate or graduate programs such as Bachelor of Science in Marketing or Digital Marketing, Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Marketing, Bachelor of Science (BS) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Marketing, Masters of Science in Marketing, Masters of Business Administration concentration of Marketing

Work Environment:
The functions of this role are conducted mainly indoors with the opportunity to participate in a field expedition to the north (Alaska, Canada).
Hours of Work:
This role is paid on a non-exempt, hourly basis.
Typically, part-time employees work hours during a Monday through Friday work week.
Desired Start Date: June 1, 2026 through August 31, 2026
Classification and Compensation: This is a part-time, temporary, non-exempt position, with an hourly salary of $15/hour + (based on Massachusetts minimum wage or equivalent state where the employee is located). Internship will not exceed more than 90 days.
Location: Falmouth, Massachusetts onsite or hybrid
