Head Coach and Assistant Coaches for Spring High School team

Join our team! We are looking for coaches for the Spring season, including flexible options to coach 2-3 days a week, or 5-6 days a week.

We are looking for an Assistant coach for our High School Varsity, a Head Novice coach, and an Assistant for our growing 8th grade rowing program. Practices are between 3 and 5 days a week, plus regattas. Practices are between 3:30pm and 6:00pm depending on the program.

Bromfield, Acton-Boxborough is a High School and Middle School team of 100+ athletes. We are competitive in our region and typically qualify 2-3 crews to Youth Nationals each year.

Start date: March 1, 2025
There is an opportunity to extend coaching duties to Summer programming if desired

We seek coaches with enthusiasm for the sport of rowing, and for working with young student-athletes, who can foster both hard work and the joy of rowing.

Responsibilities
- Supervise a safe practice environment on and off the water, including safe equipment handling and storage
- Implement a progressive plan for learning skills and appropriate training that prepares athletes for competitions, supporting the plan of the Head Coach where applicable
- Attend and provide support for athletes at races

Qualifications
- A background in competitive rowing, coxing or coaching, with solid knowledge of fundamentals. Experience with sculling is helpful but not required
- Experience with outboard launch handling and safety
- Ability to foster a fun environment for developing athletes to learn and enjoy the sport
- Able to work as a team with other coaches, athletes, and parents to ensure a positive experience for everyone.
- Ability to create and uphold a positive and supportive team culture consistent with our policies including SafeSport, School policies, our Code of Conduct
- Complete USRowing guidelines - USRowing Level 1 certification, CPR/AED/First Aid, Background check, Safe Boating certification or Boating license and CORI
