Assistant Manager, Performance Run Merchandising

A Brief Overview
The Assistant Merchandising Manager – Performance Running, supports the ASICS Merchandising team to build consumer right assortments for all levels of distribution for performance footwear & apparel. This position maximizes the potential of the products by creating the right assortment plans in consideration of consumer, pricing, segmentation through operational excellence. They have strong skills in Microsoft Excel & data management skills and can make analytical and data driven decisions. They will assist in the relationship between Product Marketing and the Sales Organization, constantly ensuring consumer insight and trends are obtained from our key wholesalers and the regional market and delivered efficiently and effectively to begin the development process.

What You'll Do
- Serves as the operations lead for the merchandising team, utilizing strong data management skills in programs such as Microsoft Excel.
- Serves as a market expert funneling information such as buyer feedback, consumer trends, shifts in retail environment and identification of whitespace opportunities for the particular area of responsibility to merchandising leadership.
- Presentation of the seasonal range to sales force and accounts during sales meetings and pre-lines.
- Build and maintain key channel/account short-term strategy covering financial history and forecasts, account strategy and tactics to evolve the business, consumer insights, consumer relevant trend information, competitive information, SMU plan and retailer general information.
- Assist in the selection of the global product for regional mainline offering through by providing product SKU needs for channel of ownership to Directors, creating channel/account SMU plan for channel and providing initial pricing and margin guidance across entire range.
- Contributes to the sampling process by handling the sample needs and set-up for channel account meetings.
- Builds all relevant sales tools for assigned channel/account.
- Interacts with all levels throughout organization including employees and outside vendors.

- Strong understanding of the athletic marketplace, and the performance running industry.
- Analytical and process-oriented, comfortable making data-driven decisions.
- Strong Microsoft Excel knowledge and ability to manage large data sets effectively.
- Attention to detail, ability to multitask and prioritize tasks with strict deadlines.
- Exceptional merchandising skills and a strong understanding of fashion trends in all markets
- Must be skilled in leadership, coaching, and training, sales generation, strategic planning, authentic customer service, communication, conflict resolution, business acumen, time management, and retail software proficiency
- Operates with curiosity with an ability to manage ambiguity and push through business challenges with a focus on continuous development
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with strong knowledge of the performance sports/lifestyle industry, awareness of current trends, and excellent cross-cultural communication skills.
- Willing to travel throughout the US.
What You'll Need
- 3-5 years experience of product management, merchandising and/or retail in the athletic footwear industry required
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) required
- Experience with Google Applications such as Gmail, Google Hangouts, etc. preferred
SALARY / PAY RANGE: Min: $69,300 Max: $77,000
