Salary Range: $21.00 – $25.00 Hourly Overview The Quality Technician will work with Operations, Quality, and Engineering to continuously improve quality performance while ensuring compliance with established standards. This role performs a variety of inspections and tests on assemblies, components, and finished products at various stages of the production process to ensure compliance with quality and reliability requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Perform dimensional and visual inspections of in-process and completed PCBA and electro-mechanical assemblies to drawings, specifications, work instructions, and routing sheets.
- Identify and investigate out-of-specification conditions and determine root cause.
- Recommend improvements to processes, technical documentation, equipment, and operator training.
- Conduct special testing, failure analysis, and validation activities as required.
- Troubleshoot returned merchandise (RMAs).
- Maintain and coordinate Material Review Board (MRB) activities.
- Monitor and report on established quality metrics.
- Develop and maintain required documentation, including checklists, work instructions, and logs.
- Perform inspection of sub-assemblies, in-process checks, and final inspections using drawings, schematics, and inspection tools.
- Initiate and process documentation related to non-conforming materials/products in collaboration with engineering teams.
- Support corrective and preventive action processes (CAPA), including documentation and follow-up.
- Support internal and external audits (customer and registrar) as required.
- Interface with customers, vendors, and auditors as a quality liaison.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings; GD&T experience required.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Self-motivated with effective time management abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Proficiency with inspection tools such as calipers and microscopes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Experience supporting process validations (IQ/OQ/PQ) is a plus.
- Knowledge of Lean/Six Sigma principles is a plus.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in a technical field preferred.
- 2–4 years of experience in an electronics manufacturing environment, preferably contract manufacturing.
- 2–4 years of quality inspection experience.
- Experience with IPC-600 and IPC-A-610 required.
- Experience with IPC J-STD-001 is a plus.
- Experience with IPC-620 is a plus.
- Experience with medical devices and/or ISO 13485 is a plus.
- Experience with Smartscope inspection equipment is a plus.
- Experience with AOI benchtop equipment is a plus.
- Must adhere to all workplace safety requirements.
- Must have proof of U.S. Citizenship to be considered.
