Medical Director – Hematology (Clinical Development)
Location: Remote (U.S. based)
Travel: Less than 10%
Overview:
An established biopharmaceutical organization is seeking an experienced Medical Director to provide strategic and medical leadership within its Hematology clinical development program. The role will focus on late-stage and life cycle management efforts and support scientific evaluations for potential business development opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Development Strategy & Execution
- Provide medical and scientific leadership across late-stage development programs
- Support regulatory interactions and collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Prepare and deliver presentations for internal governance and strategic decision-making
- Collaborate with DMPK teams to interpret PK modeling and inform clinical dosing strategies
- Conduct literature reviews and contribute to data generation and publication strategies
- Participate in evaluations of external late-stage assets for potential in-licensing or acquisition
Medical Monitoring
- Lead the design and execution of clinical trials in compliance with GCP and regulatory requirements
- Oversee medical monitoring activities, including data review and safety evaluations
- Participate in ongoing safety monitoring and evidence-based clinical decision-making
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with asset teams, clinical sub-teams, regulatory, medical affairs, and commercial teams
- Align development plans across clinical and commercial functions
External Engagement & Publications
- Support KOL interactions and contribute to advisory board activities
- Provide clinical input for investigator-sponsored research and publication planning
Additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
- M.D. required; board certification or specialty training in Hematology/Oncology strongly preferred
- Minimum 3 years of industry experience in clinical development, including regulatory exposure
- Proven track record in Hematology/Oncology across clinical phases
- Strong understanding of GCP, clinical trial execution, and medical monitoring
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional matrix environments
- Experience with risk assessment, safety evaluations, and regulatory documentation
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions

This is a remote position with limited travel expectations (<10%). Compensation is commensurate with experience and aligned with industry standards.
