Payroll Manager
Kforce has a client in Boston, MA that is seeking a Payroll Manager. Responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end payroll operations, including processing payroll on a regular cycle
- Ensure payroll accuracy, compliance, and timely execution of payroll-related activities
- Execute payroll controls and support compliance processes (e.g., internal controls, audits)
- Handle payroll tax activities, including research, issue resolution, and agency communication
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, notices, and escalations
- Maintain and update payroll systems, including configuration and setup
- Partner with internal teams and third-party providers to support payroll operations
- Oversee vendor relationships related to payroll services and support
- Support system enhancements, integrations, and process improvements
- Maintain accurate payroll records and documentation
- Collaborate cross-functionally to support payroll-related initiatives and reporting
- Monitor and improve payroll processes for efficiency and accuracy
- Strong experience in payroll processing and operations, including full ownership of payroll cycles
- Experience with payroll systems and configuration (e.g., system setup, pay codes, mapping)
- Knowledge of payroll tax regulations, compliance, and reporting
- Experience with internal controls, compliance processes, or regulated environments
- Ability to manage and resolve payroll issues, including escalations and agency notices
- Experience working with third-party payroll providers or vendors
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Strong communication and collaboration skills across cross-functional teams
- Experience supporting both salaried and hourly/non-exempt payroll populations
