Austin Preparatory School, located in Reading, Massachusetts, about 15 miles north of Boston, is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Chief Marketing & Communications Officer . Founded in 1961, Austin Prep is an independent, co-educational Catholic school in the Augustinian tradition, serving students in grades 6 through 12. The school enrolls approximately 800 students.

We are seeking a Chief Marketing & Communications Officer (CMCO) to lead the school’s strategic marketing and communications efforts. This executive-level position reports directly to the Head of School and plays a vital role in advancing the mission, brand, and visibility of the school. The CMCO will oversee the Communications Department, manage all public-facing messaging, and oversee the development of compelling, mission-driven storytelling — including supervision of a dynamic, in-house podcast studio.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a comprehensive, mission-aligned communications and marketing strategy that supports institutional goals in Admissions, Academics, and Athletics (including Extracurriculars ).
• Direct all digital and print content, including newsletters, social media, branding, executive communications, and the school’s website.
• Establish and cultivate relationships with media outlets, both local and Catholic, to expand reach and enhance the school’s public profile.

Qualifications:

• 8–10+ years of leadership experience in marketing, communications, or advancement, preferably in schools, nonprofits, or faith-based organizations.
• Proficiency in branding strategy, content creation, analytics, and media/podcast production.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic marketing and communications plans aligned with institutional goals.
