Position Summary
Boston Medical Center Health System is seeking an experienced Hospitalist Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our expanding Hospital Medicine team at BMC South. This role is designed for an advanced practice provider who thrives in a fast-paced inpatient environment and is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.
Schedule & Workload
- Shift: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM
- Schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off
- Average Admissions: ~8 patients per day
- MD Supervision: Available on-site for all admissions
- Support: Either the day team or nocturnist team will be available for transitions and support
Responsibilities
- Perform admissions from the ED and direct transfers
- Conduct comprehensive histories and physicals
- Assess, diagnose, and manage acute medical conditions in collaboration with attending physicians
- Develop and implement patient management plans
- Coordinate care with multidisciplinary teams including nursing, case management, specialty consultants, and ancillary staff
- Provide clear documentation in the electronic medical record
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, patient safety efforts, and care optimization programs
Qualifications
- Master’s degree as NP or PA from an accredited program
- Current Massachusetts NP/PA licensure
- National board certification
- Minimum 1–2 years of inpatient or hospitalist experience required
- Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team
- Excellent communication, organization, and patient-care skills

Compensation Range:
$109,000.00- $158,000.00This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, skills, and certifications/licensures as they directly relate to position requirements; as well as business/organizational needs, internal equity, and market-competitiveness. In addition, BMCHS offers generous total compensation that includes, but is not limited to, benefits (medical, dental, vision, pharmacy), discretionary annual bonuses and merit increases, Flexible Spending Accounts, 403(b) savings matches, paid time off, career advancement opportunities, and resources to support employee and family well-being.
