Pastry Cook
Join the award-winning team at JF Restaurants , led by acclaimed Chef John Fraser. We’re seeking a dynamic and experienced Pastry Cook to bring culinary expertise and creativity to our bustling kitchen at The Vermilion Club within Winthrop Center in Boston’s financial district.
Essential Job Function:
The Pastry Cook will assist the Executive Pastry Chef in all aspects of mise-en-place and collaborate closely with the Chef during service and production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up the service station and ensure all mise-en-place is in order.
- Execute the plating of desserts and bread during service.
- Consistently produce and organize all pastry items and mise-en-place.
- Conduct daily inventory of mise-en-place and promptly communicate with BOH management regarding any low or poor-quality products.
- Maintain a clean and organized service station and production kitchen.
- Ensure all products are labeled and organized in the pastry station, pastry walk-in, and prep kitchen.
- Perform station breakdown and deep cleaning with professionalism and pride.
Perfect Candidate Will Be:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in high-volume, upscale dining restaurant.
- Detail-oriented, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and high standards.
- Team-oriented and collaborative, fostering a positive work environment.
- Knowledgeable in food handling, processing techniques, and cooking.
- Open to both positive and constructive feedback from colleagues and superiors.
