Position Overview:
The Facilities Supervisor, under the direction of the Facilities Manager, is responsible for coordinating and supporting maintenance activities related to the company’s facilities, equipment, and parts.
Key Accountabilities:
- Prioritize maintenance and repair activities for company grounds, equipment and parts
- Assist with the maintenance, testing, and repair of facility systems, including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, structural, and carpentry work
- Operate and support material handling equipment, fire protection systems, hazardous waste processes, and sanitation equipment
- Support safety initiatives and ensure compliance with OSHA and all applicable local, state, and federal regulations; participate in emergency response as needed
- Maintain efficient repair schedules and review repair cost estimates for accuracy and cost-effectiveness
- Coordinate and oversee work performed by external vendors and contractors
- Monitor and manage spare parts inventory to ensure adequate supply levels
- Ensure all facility vehicles are clean, fueled, and maintained in proper working condition
- Partner with the Safety Department to implement and uphold safety policies and procedures
- Remain available for on-call support as required
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Material handling equipment, building maintenance, fire systems, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry
- Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications and schematics
- Effective interpersonal and written communication skills
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task effectively
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
- Experience with budget management
Education/Experience/Training:
- High School Diploma required, bachelor’s degree in engineering preferred
- Minimum three (3) years related experience required
- Must have knowledge of general maintenance and functions of all equipment.
