Schedule:

  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday – Friday
  • 8-hour day shifts
  • Typical hours: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM or 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
  • Shift times may vary up to 2 hours earlier or later depending on department needs
  • No weekends
  • No major holidays
  • No on-call requirement

Overview

Advantage Staffing Services is seeking an experienced RN – Trauma Performance Improvement Coordinator to support a hospital trauma program in Massachusetts. This role is responsible for coordinating the Trauma Performance Improvement and Patient Safety (PIPS) program , ensuring compliance with trauma standards and supporting continuous improvement in trauma care delivery.

The ideal candidate will bring strong clinical trauma experience, performance improvement knowledge, and analytical skills to support trauma program quality initiatives and accreditation requirements.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the Trauma Performance Improvement and Patient Safety (PIPS) program in collaboration with the Trauma Program Manager in alignment with state, regional, and national trauma standards , including American College of Surgeons guidelines.
  • Assist the Trauma Medical Director and Trauma Program Manager in evaluating the effectiveness of trauma team performance and outcomes.
  • Participate in and help coordinate trauma performance improvement committees and patient safety forums .
  • Facilitate performance improvement data collection, analysis, trending, and benchmarking .
  • Ensure compliance with trauma program standards and regulatory guidelines .
  • Develop and implement corrective action plans and performance improvement initiatives .
  • Educate members of the care team on performance improvement processes and quality improvement tools .
  • Participate in trauma center surveys and accreditation reviews .
  • Serve as a liaison with external trauma agencies , including state trauma systems and regional trauma networks.

Required Education & Experience

  • ASN required
  • Minimum 5 years of clinical nursing experience in trauma and emergency services
  • Experience working in a Level III trauma center or higher
  • Performance Improvement (PI) experience required

Preferred Education & Experience

  • BSN preferred
  • At least 2 years of experience in trauma program coordination, performance improvement, quality improvement, or data analysis
  • Experience with trauma registry software
  • Knowledge of American College of Surgeons (ACS) trauma standards
  • Experience with data analysis and performance improvement methodologies

Required Certifications

  • Active RN license – Massachusetts
  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • PALS
  • TNCC

Preferred Certifications

  • TCRN (Trauma Certified Registered Nurse)
  • TNCC Instructor

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills
  • Proficiency with trauma registry software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a hospital environment and participate in clinical site reviews and trauma program evaluations
