Electro-Mechanical Test Technician

Location: Westbourough, MA

A growing technology and manufacturing company is seeking a detail-oriented Electro-Mechanical Test Technician to join our team. This role focuses on testing, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide variety of electro-mechanical products in a dynamic and supportive environment.

About the Role

The Electro-Mechanical Test Technician performs repetitive duties to test, troubleshoot, and repair parts and assemblies using standard procedures and test equipment. This position is ideal for candidates with strong technical skills and a passion for hands-on problem solving.

Key Responsibilities

• Test electromechanical parts, subassemblies, and finished goods using standard equipment and written procedures
• Read and interpret specifications, technical manuals, schematics, and verbal instructions
• Utilize a variety of test equipment, including oscilloscopes, signal generators, meters, and other electronic devices
• Compile and record test results accurately
• Discuss technical issues with supervisors and suggest potential solutions
• Work with computers and various software tools, including cloud-based programs and test simulation software
• Interface with customers and program managers as needed

Qualifications

• ASEE, BSEE, or equivalent in Electronics Engineering or Electronics Technology (recent vocational or two-year college graduates encouraged to apply)
• Strong ability to read schematics, data sheets, and technical documents
• Proficient in using oscilloscopes, meters, signal generators, and other common electronic measurement equipment
• Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Comfortable taking a basic electronics test
• Knowledge of C++, Python, and other computer-based test and simulation software
• Ability to work on multiple programs simultaneously and collaborate with various teams
• Experience with firmware and software is a strong plus
• High school diploma or equivalent
• 1+ years of experience testing electro-mechanical parts preferred

Skills & Abilities

• Excellent computer skills, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and cloud-based applications
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
• Effective communication skills (written and verbal in English)
• Ability to learn new equipment independently or with minimal assistance
• Ability to read and understand diagnostic data

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

• Approximately 90% of work performed in a precision, light industrial production area; remainder in office and warehouse spaces
• Regularly required to stand for extended periods, walk, and reach with hands and arms
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
