Job Title: Quality Inspector / Production Assistant
Location: Devens, MA 01434
Pay Rate: $21.26/hour
Shift: 1st Shift (5:00 AM – 1:00 PM), 2 nd Shift 1PM to 9 PM and 3 rd Shift 9PM to 5 AM
Interview Required: Yes
Employment Type: Contract
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Inspector / Production Assistant to support manufacturing operations by performing in-process quality inspections, identifying quality issues, and assisting production teams as needed. This role is responsible for ensuring products meet company quality standards while supporting continuous improvement initiatives and maintaining customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Inspection & Auditing
- Perform in-process quality inspections throughout production runs.
- Conduct quality audits according to established manufacturing procedures.
- Complete audit reports and quality documentation accurately and submit them at the end of each shift.
- Perform quality measurements on critical product characteristics using inspection tools.
- Conduct strike box evaluations at the beginning and end of production runs.
- Verify completion of pre-startup quality checks before production begins.
Quality Assurance
- Identify product defects, process deviations, and quality concerns.
- Notify production supervisors of non-conforming conditions immediately.
- Work with production teams to stop production when necessary to prevent defective products from being shipped.
- Ensure non-conforming materials are properly identified, segregated, and documented according to company procedures.
Production Support
- Assist machine operators with machine setup and production readiness.
- Support quality sorting and rework activities when required.
- Provide general production support as assigned by supervisors or department managers.
- Promote a safe, organized, and efficient work environment.
Required Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing quality control or quality inspection.
- Understanding of manufacturing quality systems and quality assurance processes.
- Knowledge of non-conforming material handling procedures.
- Strong attention to detail and observational skills.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience performing quality inspections or quality audits.
- Experience in corrugated packaging or paper manufacturing.
- Familiarity with corrective action procedures and continuous improvement practices.
