Business Development Representative

About the BDR Role
As a Business Development Representative, you’ll take a proactive approach to generating qualified opportunities for the sales team by identifying key prospects, engaging decision-makers, and booking discovery calls. You’ll be supporting a platform that delivers real-time data and insights on the world’s most innovative companies, investors, and market trends.
What You’ll Be Doing:
Research and identify high-potential prospects across VC, startup, and corporate innovation ecosystems
Conduct outbound outreach via phone, email, and LinkedIn to engage leads
Articulate the value of the company’s products and qualify inbound and outbound leads
Set high-quality meetings for the Account Executive team
Consistently hit daily, weekly, and monthly outreach and conversion targets
Log activity in Salesforce and collaborate cross-functionally to improve outreach strategies
Required Skills:
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Grit, persistence, and comfort with rejection
Highly organized and able to manage multiple touchpoints
Self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently
Coachable and eager to grow in a fast-paced sales environment
Preferred Qualifications:
1–2 years of experience in sales, customer success, or similar client-facing role
Familiarity with Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and sales engagement tools
Prior experience or interest in the startup, VC, or data/analytics space
Knowledge of B2B SaaS sales cycles

Self-Motivation & Persistence: Able to handle “no,” stay organized, and work independently
Strong Communication: Clear, professional communication over phone and email
Coachability: Eager to learn, accept feedback, and improve
Outbound Prospecting: Confident initiating cold calls, emails, and social outreach
Tech Proficiency: Experience or ability to learn Salesforce, Salesloft, Outlook, and other sales tools
Requirements:
Full-time availability for the duration of the Residency
A clear understanding of the BDR role and how your skills align with it
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
A passion for sales, business development, and hitting targets
