Engine Mechanical Assembly Technician-Billerica, MA

Tecogen Inc. has an immediate opening for a full time Engine Mechanical Assembly Technician located in Billerica, MA to work in our manufacturing facility. Tecogen designs and manufactures engine driven industrial generators, chillers, and heat pumps. This position requires performing a diverse set of mechanical operations including, compressor and engine installation, engine repair and customization, building subassemblies, and performing the final assembly of our Chiller and Cogeneration product lines.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Experience with complete engine tear down and repair including top end and bottom end assembly

Good mechanical aptitude with a "hands on" approach

Be proficient in use of all hand, air, and electric tools

Read and/or interpret mechanical drawings, written procedures, and verbal direction

Prepare finished assemblies for shipment

Must have the flexibility to work first shift, and overtime, as demanded by the job

Ability to read and understand the English language

Material handling, forklift & crane operation is a plus

OTHER ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS /DUTIES:

Maintain, and use company provided tools in a safe, and proper manner

Ensures compliance with all company /customer regulations, policies, and procedures

Communications with all team members to support the development of short and long range planning in support of the company’s goals and objectives

Accurate and timely administrative duties to include, but not limited to, time accounting and work order completion

Must maintain positive customer and employee relations

Employee will perform any and all other duties that are assigned by the supervisor

Training will be provided and Tecogen's highly experienced support staff is always available for guidance. Manufacturing Technicians are provided will all necessary tools.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour
