Director of Ecological Services, Greater Boston

Greater Boston Region | Full-Time | Year-Round

Parterre Ecological Services is seeking an experienced and driven leader to oversee and grow our Greater Boston regional practice. This role is responsible for regional performance, personnel supervision, operational excellence, and business development within the private and non-government ecological landscape sector.

Parterre Ecological integrates principles of ecology and horticulture to protect, promote, and restore native plant communities. We are committed to delivering disciplined execution in the field while building strong, long-term client relationships.

The Greater Boston Director plays a critical leadership role in strengthening field operations, mentoring team members, and ensuring profitable growth within the region.

Primary Responsibilities

Regional Leadership & Personnel Supervision

  • Lead, supervise, and develop a team of Field Managers, Crew Leads, and Technicians.
  • Establish clear performance expectations and maintain accountability standards.
  • Conduct regular coaching, performance evaluations, and team development planning.
  • Reinforce Parterre’s culture and operational standards across the region.
  • Build bench strength and succession within the Greater Boston team.

Operational Excellence & Production Management

  • Oversee regional production performance and field efficiency.
  • Ensure high standards of installation quality, planting excellence, and restoration integrity.
  • Monitor projects against estimates and margin targets.
  • Improve in-field organization and execution processes.
  • Coordinate closely with division leadership on capacity and scheduling alignment.

Business Development & Client Relationships

  • Develop and maintain relationships with private clients, designers, and industry partners.
  • Identify new opportunities aligned with Parterre’s ecological capabilities.
  • Meet with prospective clients to assess site conditions and recommend solutions.
  • Support proposal development and scope refinement.

Reporting & Financial Accountability

  • Maintain accurate forecasting and reporting within Aspire CRM.
  • Participate in division-wide production and financial review meetings.
  • Contribute to annual planning and regional revenue strategy.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in ecological restoration, landscape construction, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of New England native plant communities and invasive plant management.
  • CERP (Certified Ecological Restoration Practitioner) certification desired
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing field teams.
  • Experience developing proposals and overseeing project budgets.
  • Familiarity with permitting and sensitive-area regulations in Massachusetts.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and business development skills.
  • Comfort operating within production and margin performance targets.

Position Details

  • Full-time, year-round salaried position.
  • Reports to the Division Director of Ecological Services.
  • Based in Greater Boston with coordination from our North Billerica office.
