Teacher, 1st Grade (SY26-27)
1st Grade Teacher (SY2627) Dudley Street Neighborhood Charter School is seeking a 1st-grade teacher to join our school community for the 20262027 school year. About Dudley Street Dudley Street Neighborhood Charter School is a Horace Mann in-district charter school within Boston Public Schools serving grades PreK5. Founded by the Boston Plan for Excellence (BPE) and the Dudley Street Neighborhood Initiative (DSNI), our school is rooted in deep community partnership and a commitment to ensuring all students in the Dudley neighborhood have access to a joyful and rigorous education. Our Teachers Dudley Street teachers create classrooms where students do the intellectual heavy lifting. Teachers design learning experiences that challenge students to think deeply, explain their reasoning, and engage actively with ideas and one another. Our teachers:

- Foster strong foundational literacy and numeracy development in early elementary grades
- Establish a joyful, structured classroom environment grounded in Responsive Classroom practices
- Teach and reinforce clear routines that support student independence and responsibility
- Cultivate a classroom community where all students feel known, valued, and capable
- Collaboration and Professional Learning
- Collaborate regularly with grade-level teams and specialists to plan instruction and analyze student work
- Engage actively in coaching, observation, and feedback cycles
- Contribute to a culture of continuous adult learning and reflection
- Mentor and support Boston Teacher Residency residents as part of the schools Teaching Academy model
- Build authentic, respectful relationships with families
- Communicate regularly with caregivers about student learning and progress
- Partner with families to support students academic and social-emotional development
- Deep belief in the Dudley Street mission and commitment to educational equity
- Massachusetts teaching license in Elementary Education and SEI endorsement (required)
- Additional licensure in ESL and/or Special Education strongly preferred
- Demonstrated ability to support the learning of diverse student populations
- Strong instructional planning and classroom management skills
- Commitment to collaboration and professional growth
