About Role: As a Boston Scientific R&D Engineering Spring Co-op 2026 you will be working with other R&D engineers and supporting functions on a small team to develop a next generation endoscopic product. The product is in early development with a variety of unique challenges that require creative problem solving.

Your Opportunity:

As a co-op at Boston Scientific, you will…

  • Researches user needs, develops test methods, designs fixtures, and evaluates materials, components, assemblies, processes and/or equipment
  • Works “hands-on” in performing testing, troubleshooting, and prototyping components for new products and technologies
  • Utilizes CAD/Solidworks as required to create designs or evaluate existing designs
  • Designs and coordinates critical test methods and experimental evaluations to close knowledge gaps
  • Performs basic statistical analyses as necessary
  • Maintains detailed documentation throughout all phases of research and development
  • Gathers and provides technical data for technical reviews
  • Contributes or prepares standard reports/documentation to communicate results to the cross functional team
  • Contributes ideas to or generates Intellectual Property submissions
  • Works cooperatively and collaboratively with peers, engineering personnel, technicians, and management
  • Works independently to problem-solve challenges while reaching out to subject matter experts for guidance .

Required Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Biomedical, Electrical, Chemical, or Systems Engineering or Materials & Science Engineering.
  • Must graduate between Fall 2026 – Spring 2027.
  • Report Writing Experience.
  • Must be able to commit to program dates January 12th – June 26th, 2026.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization (F-1 students with practical training and candidates requiring H-1Bs, TNs, etc. will not be considered).
  • Must have reliable transportation to commute to Boston Scientific’s Marlborough, MA, location for the duration of the co-op.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous internship/co-op or research experience.
  • Proficiency in CAD.
  • Knowledge of MATLAB or Python.
  • Experience in engineering tools- FEA, Machining or 3-D printing.
  • Experience developing visual based test methods.
  • Passionate about the medical device field and early product development.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse, cross-functional teams.

Maximum Salary: $ 67704

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
