About this Opportunity:
We are seeking an innovative and strategic VP of Marketing Science & Data Analytics. A leader who will oversee and manage analytics and data functions -- leading a talented team while driving the development of analytical solutions. This role will play a major role in creating how the firm delivers leading edge analytics for their clients. This role calls for a ‘hands-on’ practitioner with extensive analytics experience and leadership skills.
Responsibilities and ExpectationsEssential Duties:
Development
• Define a direction for the function in alignment with requirements and market opportunities
• Anticipate requirements for future capabilities, including measurement and analytics
Personal Expertise
• Stay abreast of leading edge methodologies, analytical techniques, measurement, design standards and their practical applications
• Be recognized as a methodology and analytical thought leader and industry expert both internally and externally
o Write material for a range of sources, including journals, website, and blogs
o Present at industry conferences
o Deliver training when appropriate
• Take advantage of training and development opportunities and attend conferences
Client Building
• Make a direct contribution to sales success including growing new client relationships and revenue
• Develop, sell, and deliver Data Integration based offerings to new and existing clients
Management
• Lead the Advanced Analytics function and actively manage internal team members and external resource capabilities including, analysts, project consultants and methodological experts
• Partner with leadership to establish and achieve goals for the Advanced Analytics team (e.g., client satisfaction, project execution and profitability, team efficiency, employee utilization)
• Manage internal team by continuously measuring and discussing performance, providing mentoring and coaching feedback, and creating development opportunities
• Manage external partner capabilities (people, processes and tools) to meet the needs of clients and our business
• Plan and manage talent capacity and ensure an equitable workload distribution across each team member
• Work with other managers, colleagues and HR to effectively recruit and onboard talent, when necessary
• Lead and actively participate in cross-company initiatives
• Participates in peer reviews in a timely manner
Projects
• Partner with clients, Practice Leaders, Research Directors (RDs), Client Services and Field Services to successfully contribute to end-to-end client/project delivery alignment leading to valuable insights, high client satisfaction and quality project deliverables
• Directly own, work on and complete the most complex client project engagements
Qualifications
• Master’s degree or higher in a related field (e.g. statistics, math, market research)
• Minimum of 10 years independently managing market research analytics projects
• Experience with complex market research analytical techniques and approaches including conjoint & choice modeling, preference modeling , segmentation modeling, simulator and typing tool development, structural equation modeling, regression modeling, survival analysis, discriminant analysis, adjusted chi-square residuals analysis, factor analysis, data mining, stochastic modeling, time-series modeling & forecasting
• Hands on experience using advanced analytical tools and technology
• Exceptional leadership, management, mentoring skills
• Excellent at establishing and strengthening relationships with clients, co-workers and vendors
• Highly collaborative approach when working with fellow colleagues and clients
• Proven track record managing to milestones, deliverables and budgets
• Effective at delegating, managing and influencing teams and individuals
• Excellent at managing multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
• Able to see the big picture and also operate with a strong attention to detail
