Youth Advocate (Per Diem) - Plymouth Emergency Residence

Description:

We are looking for compassionate and dedicated Per Diem - Youth Advocates to join our team! As a Youth Advocate , you will play a vital role in creating a safe, supportive, and empowering environment for our youth in the program. In this role, you’ll work closely with youth in need, supporting their growth, independence, and well-being. Whether providing day-to-day guidance, helping youth build life skills, or offering a listening ear, you will be an essential part of their journey toward self-sufficiency!

What You Will be Doing to Make a Difference in the Lives of Youth:

• Supervise and maintain the safety of adolescents between the ages of (12-18) in the program
• Deliver services in a culturally competent manner
• Supports youth with developing daily living skills
• Implement as required interventions associated with treatment and service plan goals
• Participates in de-escalation and physical interventions of youth when required
• Implements and adheres to the behavioral support system of the program
• Acts as a positive role model for youth and coworkers, treating them with respect, dignity, understanding and fairness
• Provide per diem shift coverage
• Driving is required
• On the rare occasion due to staffing needs, you may be asked to work your scheduled shift at any of the four residential programs in Quincy, Weymouth, Hingham or Plymouth.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 1 year experience working with adolescents is preferred (not required)
• Residential experience preferred
• Experience with systems (e.g. DMH, DCF) preferred
• Additional languages desirable, though not required
• Able to learn, carry out and be certified in CPI physical interventions, and de-escalation techniques
• Able to learn, carry out and be certified in CPR and first aid
