MRM Quality Control Technician

Position Summary:
The MRM Quality Control Technician is responsible for ensuring the quality and compliance of Ready Mixed Concrete and all aggregates used by the company. This role performs routine testing and inspections to verify that materials meet required job specifications and industry standards.
Responsibilities:
- Comply with (and actively promote) all Safety policies and procedures including reporting all accidents, incidents and near misses to ensure adherence to our Number One Core Value – Safety, first in everything we do.
- Ensure concrete manufactured in Mass Ready Mix facilities meets the designed specification criteria, with a focus on Massachusetts Department of Transportation concrete mixes.
- Perform daily plant and field testing of concrete, working closely with field superintendents and engineers to ensure compliance with specifications and prevent rejections.
- Adjust the air and slump of concrete in the field and communicate necessary adjustments to the plants for chemical and water parameters.
- Serve as a liaison between customers, engineers, batch/dispatch teams, and concrete sales.
- Maintain an inventory of quality control supplies.
- Conduct periodic sampling and testing of aggregates and concrete to ensure compliance with applicable job specifications.
- Perform testing, including but not limited to, gradations, slumps, air content, and fabricating compressive samples.
- Ensure product compliance with MA and NH Department of Transportation guidelines.
- Work independently within a routine schedule to fulfill job responsibilities.
- Follow all OSHA and MSHA regulations as well as company policies and procedures.
- Work safely and responsibly, collaborating effectively with team members.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree (A.A./A.S.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school. (Preferred)
- Four to six years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
ACI Concrete Field-Testing Technician Grade 1 (Preferred) - ACI Concrete Laboratory Testing Technician Level 1 (Preferred)
- NETTCP Concrete Technician (Preferred)
