Preschool Extended Day Teacher

Job Overview
Kid Town Nursery School is looking for a part time Extended day teacher with an background in the Reggio Emilia philosophy and/or nature based learning to join our team for the remainder of the 25-26 school year. Possibility for summer hours or continued position next year.

About our school: We opened in Mansfield in 2019 as a small nursery school licensed for 6. We expanded the following fall to 9 children per day, and we currently operate at a larger commercial space in Plainville with 3 indoor classrooms, 3 outdoor classrooms and a studio. We are play and project based and are heavily inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy of teaching, with a strong emphasis on nature based learning. Our mission is to form our curriculum around the children we enroll.

Job Title: Looking for part time teacher with current EEC Teacher certification to teach our extended day program 12:30-4:30 each afternoon and help with break coverage. The ideal candidate:

-MUST HAVE EEC teacher or Lead teacher certification I/T or P or both (Teachers with assistant certification not needed at this time)

-has a background in a Reggio inspired/play based or nature inspired classroom

-has a passion for observation, documentation, professional development and helping children love learning

-has a desire to learn from both children and colleagues

-has an understanding of current developmentally appropriate practice and experience with neuro-divergence

Responsibilities
- Extended day program with 10 preschool aged children

-Must love the outdoors as we are outside daily

-Extended day responsibilities include managing class of toddlers or Preschool/Prek children in afternoon curriculum and outside time.
