As a CBRE Technical Design Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the design review process including schematic design, design development, and construction documentation, ensuring alignment with corporate standards and sustainability initiatives for a large financial client.
What You'll Do:
Provide formal supervision to employees. Monitor the training and development of staff. Conduct performance evaluations and coaching. Oversee the recruiting and hiring of new employees.
Coordinate and manage the team's daily activities. Establish work schedules, assign tasks, and cross-train staff.
Set and track staff and department deadlines. Mentor and coach as needed.
Build and strengthen ongoing client relationships. Identify new opportunities within Business Development.
Act as a point of contact with the client. Directly impact the success of a project by overseeing design quality, fiscal management, client satisfaction, and team management.
Interpret contract technical specifications and organize staffing/work plan to provide required scope of work.
Prepare detailed technical project proposals, including specifications, timelines, and resource allocation. Identify and document additional services for review by the Project Director and approval of client.
Implement and oversee QA/QC processes within project schedule, ensuring adherence to technical standards and best practices.
Conduct technical design reviews with team to promote innovative and efficient solutions.
Review contract documents for completeness, accuracy, and alignment with technical requirements.
Manage construction, procurement, and labor budgets, optimizing resource allocation for maximum efficiency.
Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Influence parties of shared interests to reach an agreement.
Apply knowledge of own discipline and how own discipline integrates with others to achieve team and departmental objectives.
Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve day-to-day and moderately complex technical issues which may or may not be evident in existing systems and processes.
Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices in technical design.
What You'll Need:
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field preferred with 3-5 years of relevant experience. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered. Relevant professional certifications are a plus.
Ability to guide the exchange of sensitive, complicated, and difficult technical information, convey performance expectations and handle problems effectively.
Leadership skills to motivate team impact on quality, efficiency, and effectiveness of the job discipline and department.
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
Extensive organizational skills with a strong inquisitive mindset.
Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks effectively.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Turner & Townsend carefully considers multiple factors to determine compensation, including a candidate's education, training, and experience. The minimum salary for this position is $110,000.00 annually and the maximum salary for this position is $145,000.00 annually. The compensation that is offered to a successful candidate will depend on the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. Successful candidates will also be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on Turner & Townsend's applicable benefit program. This role will provide the following benefits: 401(K), Dental insurance, Health insurance, Life insurance, and Vision insurance.
