Job Summary
Installs and services automatic oil burners in furnaces, as well as other heating equipment and associated systems in homes and commercial establishments by performing the following duties.
Essential Functions
Drives service van, service heating systems, maintain required records, communicate with dispatcher and service department, comply with safety requirements, deliver product, and comply with company dress and comportment policies.
Other Duties and Functions
Occasionally, required to assist with or perform installations. Deliver and remove boilers, furnaces, heating or hot water equipment or fuel tanks which may weigh up to 1500 pounds.
Equipment RequirementsPossesses the tools necessary to perform service repairs, and installations.

Education/ Experience/License Requirements
- Two to four years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Valid drivers license.
- A valid occupational license (if required).
- Ability to pass a certified test for substance abuse.
- Employment Eligibility Verification (new employee).
- Record of traffic violations.
- Ability to practice strong interpersonal skills.
- Adequate knowledge of electrical systems.
- Adequate knowledge of potable water systems.
- Adequate knowledge of hydronics and air distribution systems of heating systems.
- Adequate knowledge of underground oil tanks and related oil distribution systems.
- Knowledge of the functions of all job related tools and devices, and the ability to skillfully use them.
- Ability to read and decipher schematic drawings.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively with customers or other employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
