Job Description:
- Oversee estimating for commercial and industrial mechanical construction projects.
- This senior role is responsible for leading the preparation of accurate, competitive, and strategic cost estimates for HVAC, plumbing, piping, and related mechanical systems.
- The Lead Mechanical Estimator reviews drawings, specifications, and contract documents; develops detailed quantity takeoffs; evaluates labor productivity and material costs; and manages vendor and subcontractor pricing to ensure complete and well-qualified bids.
- In addition to hands-on estimating, this role provides leadership and guidance to the estimating team, establishes estimating standards and best practices, supports bid strategy and risk assessment, and collaborates closely with project management, engineering, and field leadership to ensure constructability and smooth project handoff.
- The ideal candidate brings extensive mechanical estimating experience, strong technical knowledge, sound judgment, and the ability to mentor others while managing multiple pursuits and deadlines in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years mechanical estimating experience
- Lead estimator experience
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or related field
