The Opportunity:The Resource Support Assistant provides secretarial and administrative support for attorneys and paralegals in various practice groups. You will be responsible for interacting with colleagues in a workforce setting and upholding the image of the Firm by maintaining positive contact with clients, attorneys and staff, and observing confidentiality of client matters.
The Day-To-Day:On Any Given Day, You Will:
- Compose correspondence, memoranda and other legal documents. Make edits to and proofread documents; review same for appropriate formatting, spelling, and grammar.
- Coordinate, follow through and execute work requests from attorneys and paralegals
- Support projects with other support departments (e.g., client billing, managing clerks office, file/document clerks, office services, etc.).
- Verify all attachments, exhibits and enclosures are included with transmittal letters/memos, and various real estate and/or corporate documents.
- Develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues and firm clients.
- Prepare expense reports; make travel arrangements; submit conflict checks; prepare meeting agendas; coordinate meetings, conferences, closing packages; track attorney CLE credits and review client billing.
- Maintain calendars, contacts and deadline reminder systems.
- Provide overflow and absence coverage as well as secretarial support for the Secretarial Team Members’ and attorneys.
- Support various litigation organizational projects as necessary.
- Ability to work in the office 9:00 am – 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday (flex schedule offered after training completed).
- 1 – 2 years of legal office experience a plus.
- Knowledge of basic real estate and/or corporate practice a plus.
- Knowledge of relevant firm computer software programs (e.g., Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Document Management System), with the ability to become proficient in new software and operating systems. Knowledge of legal terminology.
- Strong, effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
- High level of attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to problem solve.
- Ability to effectively handle multiple assignments and competing priorities.
- Ability to work well in a demanding and fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team.
- Recent experience in a resource/support center at a large, national law firm a plus.
- Strong proofreading skills, and solid grammar/spelling skills.
- Familiarity with Carpe Diem, Elite, IManage, Chrome River, Forte or similar technology.
- Flexibility to work overtime as needed.
- Excellent attendance and punctuality

Location Specific Language:The salary range for this role is $53,000 to $60,000 annually, which is based on a 35hour work week. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in Boston. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for an annual merit increase and bonus pay .
